What our clients say about us?

Wow, so happy I have a tutor at MSL for my daughter Tiana! Waiting for the school to give her the help she needed would have been a mistake, in only a few short lessons and Tiana’s confidence and knowledge has skyrocketed! It’s wonderful, I almost have a new daughter. She is happier, more confident and I can see she has many more tools to read a lot of the work that she is given in school today. Don’t wait if you are in doubt just jump in and get the help your child needs.

MSL has been a fabulous asset in helping Heath achieve his learning goals. Heath struggled with the ability to recognize and manipulate the sounds in language, decode words, spelling, read fluently and write well. As a teacher I was able to guide Heath in his learning but did not have the understanding or knowledge of strategies/resources Heath needed in place to ensure progress in his learning. Lisa his tutor has worked patiently with Heath, building Heath’s confidence towards learning, setting successful learning goals and communication is 10/10. We can now see a willingness in Heath, who is confident and wants to learn, read and write. Thanks so much MSL.

I had tried other things for my daughter but by the end of grade 6 she was still struggling. Elisha started with MSL in grade 6 and is in Secondary School now. When she started she literally could not read anything. I remember when Elisha came home and read her first sentence to me, it was an awesome moment. My daughter is a really great kid, she just needed to get the right type of extra help and the right person to help her. I know I got this for her. Please don’t wait for the school to get it going, get extra help. MSL have hung in there through some tough times and Elisha is improving every lesson, she has severe dyslexia, I get that things will be hard, but if you get the right tutor it can make all the difference, thanks MSL.

My daughter, Chiara had one term of face-to-face learning and then moved to online classes, however this didn’t stop Chiara from improving dramatically with her reading. Thanks to the way each lesson was tailored, it suited Chiara and where she needed the extra attention she got it and her learning has gone up. Chiara is made to feel comfortable, and I have realised this has helped achieve such amazing results! Her confidence has been boosted toward her schoolwork also, so much. We are so grateful and look forward to seeing Chiara achieve even more goals as she learns.

James has improved his reading and comprehension over the last 2 years because he has been given quality instruction using Lisa’s proven systems. I have seen James’s confidence grow and his willingness to read has flourished. As a teacher myself, I understand that when learning takes place, lives change. I am glad James has had the opportunity to work with Lisa, whose kindness, compassion and dedication to improving student outcomes is unrivalled.

I have tried so many different tutors and MSL was the best I have found.
I was 55 when I came to MSL for help. They were the only ones that could help me. I can now read and spell and write enough to make things a lot easier. I remember when I could finally read all my special cards that I had been given through the years and Lisa, my tutor and I cried, it was such a good feeling. Honestly, being able to now read and write has helped me feel much better about myself, honestly, I never thought it would happen. Now I can read life is so much better.

Samuel has received MSL tuition from primary through to his secondary school years. I am so glad he has had help with his learning, I am not sure where he would have been without it! School has been tough for him, but Lisa his tutor has a calming influence and has always made sure that Samuel feels happy and confident in what she asks him to do. Samuel has grown so much and is now on his journey into the workforce. I recognise he is taking with him lots of confidence, knowledge and his already achieved successes I know MSL has helped him get.

Juan my son has received tutoring from MSL from grade 4 right through his high school years. He always talks about how he has liked his tutor and how she has walked with him through the years. I think if there was a way to describe the help, he has got is that it has been like a lifeline. If we did not get it, I think there would be a lot of things different today. I have known MSL for a long time, and can thoroughly endorse it, its personal, tailored to suit my son, and really works, thanks so much.

Ned came to MSL to fill in some gaps with his reading in Grade 6 to help his transition into Secondary School. He was tutored for a short time, and the results were very noticeable and really helpful for Ned. He developed a lot more confidence to read those big words and found a big surge of new skills which were very helpful in Year 7. High school has seemed much easier for Ned with this step up, so thankful I got the extra help he needed.

My daughter Charlotte came to MSL in desperate need of some help with her reading spelling and writing. She was usually such a happy kid, but I could see that she was struggling to do the basics and needed outside help to get it going for her. I got a tutor from MSL to come on board and since then Charls has not looked back. What I loved is the personal, caring approach that her tutor had and how she helped guide Charls at the same time she learnt to read and spell better. Charls is now going through Secondary School and having her specialist tutor has been a game changer. Waiting for the school to come on board did not always work the way that I needed it to, I am so pleased that I got help when my girl needed it most.

My son has been tutored by MSL for about 2 years. When he first started with tutoring he could hardly read, spell or write. Now he has been getting help he is so much happier at school. He can do things he thought he would never be able to do. I am so glad I got tutoring for him. He really loves to learn new things now and always talks about new things he can do. He was never able to read books he liked and lately he has started reading lots of Chapter Books, he is loving it! Thanks MSL

We have been with Lisa of mustard seed learning for nearly 2 years and she has been instrumental in getting us through some challenging times.
Lisa is not just our daughters tutor but also her advocate. She has helped me when I’ve been questioning the right way to be my child’s voice to get the support she requires to keep on moving forward. She provides me with updates and explains ways we can further assist her learning.

Our son Riley aged 12 started with Lisa at Mustard Seed Learning 2020 to help with reading, spelling & writing. Riley has dyslexia and requires extra help. His confidence was low and frustration was high, he no longer tried to read instead avoiding it or calling himself too dumb to read. Obviously as parents this is heart breaking to hear your child say this. We explored so many options within the education system, tutoring locally (rural town in NSW), online systems but in the end, there was just one road block after another. So, we went searching further afield finding Riley the right fit for him to start learning again. Thankfully we found MSL and Lisa as a Tutor.
